Warranty Policy

Manufacturer's Warranty

1. This warranty is not transferable; it applies only to the consumer (Third Party) that purchased the product from the retailer (CFMA’s client) invoiced by the manufacturer (CFMA)

2. Where furniture supplied by CFMA has been onsold by the client to a third party, and the third party has found fault with the product(s), it is the sole responsibility of the seller (CFMA’s client) to inspect all furniture for manufacturing defect prior to contacting CFMA for warranty matters.

3. The manufacturer will remedy any bona-fide claim by either, in its sole discretion, repairing or replacing the product free of charge.

4. If inspection and testing finds no fault, the purchaser must pay the manufacturer's usual costs of service work, evaluation and testing.

5. The manufacturer reserves the right to replace defective parts of the product with parts and components of similar quality, grade and composition where an identical part or component is not available.

6. Products presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished products of the same type, rather than being repaired. Refurbished parts may be used to repair the product.

7. Where CFMA has organised delivery, transit damage must be claimed within 24 hours of receipt, by phone, email or fax.

8. Where the purchaser has arranged delivery/shipment, the freight company or delivering agent is responsible for any damage caused in transit. CFMA accepts no liability for damage caused during transit, after product has left the manufacturing address in this instance.

9. Freight costs for warranty claims will be borne by the purchaser from the nominated point of delivery. The supplier will only be responsible for return freight from the original delivery point.

10. This warranty does not apply if:

The product has not been maintained, cleaned, installed or operated in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions or recommendations (refer to our Furniture Care instructions, available online);The product has been subjected to abuse, improper treatment, or misuse;

The product has been exposed to the elements;

Repairs, maintenance or service have been done by an unauthorised person.

This warranty does not extend to nicks, scratches and wrinkles occurring in leather.

This warranty does not extend to chips, scratches or marks occurring in timber.

11. SPECIFIC EXCLUSIONS

PRODUCT ORDERED RAW - Warranty claims relating to products specifically ordered to be supplied in raw, unpolished finish will be limited to manufacturing or material faults which do not relate to the raw finish.  Surface checking, warping staining and other problems directly related to the supply of product in raw form will not be covered by warranty.

COLOUR CONSISTENCY - Due to the natural variations and characteristics of materials the manufacturer cannot guarantee total uniformity of colour within any one piece of furniture, especially those products made of leather and timbers.

COLOUR MATCHING - The manufacturer cannot guarantee colour matching with products not manufactured by it. This includes fabric, leather and timber varieties.

FAULTS OF COMPONENTS – CFMA is not liable for the faults or defects of components, not specifically manufactured by it, and accepts no responsibility for damage or injury arising from such. Components include wooden frames, fabric and seating technology. Please note that these may be covered by a warranty, issued by the specific manufacturer. See notes below.

CUSHIONS - Slight softening, flattening and loss of resiliency will occur in all foam, polyester fibre and other filling materials as a normal result of use and aging and is NOT considered a defect. Cushions should be turned, flipped and fluffed to prevent uneven wear on cores and to redistribute materials.

FABRICS - Excluded from this warranty are fading, colour fastness, wearing quality, wrinkling, and stretching and dye loss. Any application of fabric protection treatments voids the fabric coverings warranty.

LEATHERS - Excluded from this warranty are fading, wrinkling, stretching, dye transfer and stains of any kind. Leather coverings contain natural markings from injuries to animals (scars), brands, colour or grain variations and wrinkles; these are considered normal characteristics of leather hides and not considered defects. Leather is a natural material and no two hides will be the same, therefore colour variations may occur. Any application of leather protection treatments voids the leather coverings warranty.

12. A minimum service call charge of $90 will apply where the manufacturer is requested to attend to works or repairs that are not covered by this warranty.

13. The manufacturer makes no express warranties or representations other than those set out in this warranty.

14. The repair or replacement of the product or part of the product is the absolute limit of the manufacturer's liability under this express warranty.

15. In the event of a dispute regarding warranty, the matter will be adjudicated by a recognised industry conciliator/mediator. A list of approved industry conciliators/mediators is available from the State Offices of the Furnishing Industry Association of Australia (FIAA).
